Race Face ERA SL Wheel Description:

The Race Face ERA SL wheel is packed with features that not only reduce weight and amp up performance that makes it a great option for a XC racing mountain bike, but they also add a great deal of toughness so the wheel is the perfect lightweight upgrade for riding every day on a shorter travel mountain bike. On the outside, an asymmetric rim featuring Anvil Edge bead walls, an offset spoke nipple bed, and a shallow 22mm rim depth combine together to produce a rim with an optimal balance between compliance, stiffness, and toughness. At the center of the wheel is a Vault hub with an oversized hub shell, large diameter bearings with low drag labyrinth seals, and a freehub with 3 degrees of engagement that further contributes to the lighter weight of the wheels, reduces maintenance, and adds to this wheels excellent stiffness. Tying the hub and rim together is 28 butted, straight pull spokes that not only are lighter in weight than a j-bend spoke, they eliminate a common failure point and give this wheel a forgiving ride so the rider will have more energy for the final push to the end of the ride.
